George from Saudi Arabia by way of Kansas...

Postby GFHavel » Mon Aug 01, 2011 5:23 am

Hey ya'll,
Hi my name is George, I recently (May '11) retired from the active duty Army @ Ft. Riley, KS.. I am currently calling Riyadh Saudi Arabia home, for at least the next 9 months. My wife and daughter are back home in White City, KS.. After 24yrs of being forced to go on camping trips I didn't ever think I would be this hooked on the cutesy little campers described as Teardrops. I stumbled across them a few years back from a company called Camp-Inn. They have some really really nice stuff..... but not in my price range! After a few years browsing the internet I have compiled an extensive memory bank of information on building these little gems. Now, I just have to figure out a way to tap into the info without it getting too confusing.

I know that I am going to build a TT, don't know when, don't even know if it will be approved by LOML. But I will build one! I have perused several of the members builds here on T&TTT. Just what I needed... more decisions.

Hit me up on Facebook, George Havel.

George :D

newbie here as well, but welcome aboard!

i also first saw the camp-inn trailers but they're waaaaay out of my price range (and plus i love building stuff anyway, so this is a good excuse!)

i'm a few weeks into my build, but have essentially been using mike's generic benroy plans (link at the top) and modifying them based on some stuff that i like about the camp-inn models... underfloor storage, front storage box, etc...

still a long way to go, but progress can be seen in my album (button at the bottom of this)

best from st louis,
kent :)

Will you be starting your build in Saudi or waiting until you get back to the States? Never the less, welcome to the forum and good luck on your build.

The build is going on hold until I get done here. With the economy the way it is, I have to go were the money is! Messing around with Sketchup and drawing plans on paper is allowing me to somewhat perfect my want/need/can't do without wish list.

Hopefully I will be able to start the build in about a year or so....
