Moving day

Postby legend lime » Wed Feb 01, 2012 9:21 pm

Thanks Larry ya I have built a few things in the past.

Some new pics Monday was moving day I finished up installing the lights and electricity in the temp hanger. Lowered the top and pull the trailer out of the shop and moved it into the temporary hanger and reinstalled the top for the last time. I made a new support and moved the tongue support to the front of the tongue don’t have pics of that yet. Today cut two more sheets of birch plywood for the inside top and put the finish on them hopefully they will be ready to sand tomorrow and I can get the last coat on them. I sure hope this weather stays as nice as it has been for the last couple of weeks 65 in January unheard of in GA.

Hi All
Small update not much work on the trailer last week due to the weather to cold but I get the window in I ordered off eBay (great window for $99.51 total) and was able to get it framed in and the outside and inside paneling cut and ready to install after I am able to put two more coats on the outside panel. It takes the spar Urethane so long to cure that you have to have a day with 60 degrees or better just to be able to run the heat in the shop to be able to get it to dry before night fall. I also started the running the vent lines for the gray and black water tanks for the rest of the week I just did a lot of running a round getting some wire, power inlet ends and outside power cord, range hood, and more birch paneling and wood for the cabinet face frames and doors.

Yes it is a small world synaps3

a few more pics I have been working on the cabinet for the kitchen this past weekend and I am down to applying the finish hope to have this completed by Wednesday so I can get back in side the camper and run some more wires and pluming.

Image

made it out of #2 pine and birch plywood for the side and sandy for the drawers and slides.

I know before you say it, it looks like some kind of a new fangle totilet but it's for anything that wont fit any where else.

Image

I installed drawer / Door catches at the back of te drawers to keep them closed hard to tell what they are from the pic.

Super Nice. I'm so Jealous that you actually have a Garage/Building that you can work in. My Garage get's rearranged every time I want to work in it. Pull this out push this over there!! Sort of a pain. Love the idea of the Standup and amenities.

Would love to see it done.

Hi Richard:

Beautiful build. Solid roomy and a classic look.

I love the sheen on the exterior wood grain. Is it the lighting in some of the pictures or has that nice glossy finish soffened some as it has cured?

I was going to metion the air in the tires story when some one mentioned it way back, but who needs air when you don't have wheels.

" Well Theres Hardware, Software and then theres Wetware". . . The stuff between our ears. Youve thought it through.

As a woodworker, I always joke about it but you know . . . " Theres a relationship between a man and his wood . "

Your trailer really catches the eye. :applause:

Martin

I enjoyed your pics and the ones posted by someone at the beginning of youre build in the, " Cabin Car styleing "

Hi everyone
Thanks for the great comments, Cliff I am doing fine no problems as of today, I been busy the last two months ordering parts and trying to get everything wired, plumbed, hung and sealed. I ordered the inside lights and Out side Marker lights last Thursday from a company in Oregon they had the best price for the LED lights I wanted to install but haven’t arrived as of today must be on a slow boat. As soon as I get the lights I can complete the wiring and start closing up the outside.

Cuyead: Here are some pics of the VW windows installed they are working out great I’ll do some inside shots when I have the time.
Any way here are some updated pics hope you enjoy.

Richard

You did VW windows on both sides? Great looking bath. Fantastic job! Work of Art! Love the neatness of the wire and plumbing routing. How does one get something like that insured? Is there a company that does that kind of appraising?

Hi Everyone
Sorry I haven't posted any pics lately but I'v just been to busy trying to finish it before our trip to Calif this June I still have some small wood work to complete on the inside but it wont keep us from using the trailer. I did a test road trip up to Tenn last Wednesday and everything worked great you know I have owned a lot of campers and motor coach's over the years and I have never had a trucker pull up be side me blow his horn and give me the thumbs up I have had some middle fingers but I was shocked wednesday when he pulled a lone side of me. Well tomorrow starts our 5000 mile trip from GA to Calif and back.

See ya later
