I'm of the mind a fabric-skinned foamer is just the ticket for less maintenance...Now if I can just convince la hefa to let me keep it outside.Sure would make the design a lot easier.
One of my "experiments" will be to construct a bird feeder from 1/2" or 3/4" skinned foam board (adhered with and covered with a couple of coats of exterior latex paint). I want to see how this stuff weathers over the winter...Might as well make something that has more than one use (sort of like space in a tear or TTT).
I'm still in the "mind-building" process. I like to build projects a component at a time a couple of times first in my head, making adjustments along the way with quick sketches to confirm that what my mind's eye is seeing is applicable to the real world...Once I've got it built to my satisfaction "up there," I'll get the design down on paper for final adjustments and then take tools in hand and do the deed.
