This boat might just end up in the Hall of Foam...er, fame! 8)

Glad you got that fixed ... probably a bad spot in the wood of the first piece ... Are you putting a full length Keel on the bottom ... ? That would really tie the whole hull together ...

Are you planning an upper deck of some sort .. ??

I have some progress to report!
Here is a picture of the bottom being glued on.
Image

I used a round over bit with a bearing to cut the out the shape of the bottom.
Image

It left a pretty big ridge around the edge.
Image

A small multi-rasp plane smoothed the edge down in no time!

Before you go through the trouble and expense of glassing this boat, do you think you can do a stability test on water?

StandUpGuy- I won't be able to take it to the water until after it's covered. I don't think it will survive the car top trip. I'm really not too worried about the stability on the water. The boat is about the length of a canoe and a little wider.

Can’t be any more tippy than a Pirogue :o This one should be Much better with twice the freeboard ... ;)
Idea: Having built a few Tippy boats in my youth , I quickly learned the advantage of the “outriggerâ€

Looking good Rosey... Your foam project has me thinking about my strip built kayak project that never has gotten off the ground, I've been re-reading all my research material and thinking about making that the next project after I finish the Road Foamie. HMMM, Maybe I can incorporate foam and canvas building methods into it...

Where will the seats be located in this boat?

the plan has one seat about 2 ft from the rear of the boat. the second seat is a ditty box that can be moved as needed for weight distribution.
