We tried that last summer.. Chell put the impression of an iron into the foam. No more ironing on the foam.

Mike
I found this by accident. When I was sealing in the hole I cut for the AC I got a couple of runs down the outside of our trailer next to a seam. I tried sanding them with my sander and 100 grit. Didn't get rid of the runs but smoothed out the material fuzz and smoothed out the seam a little. You might try that on your seams in a corner and see how it works.

Gary
PS I had 4 coats of paint on the trailer though 2 of latex primer and 2 of oil base finish.
Where ever we raise the hatch is home.
Darn blank states keep getting further away and we keep traveling slower ain't never gona get this map full.

How about cove moulding? I think either wood or plastic would make the curve.

Ah, you're right.

Here's the crack. I've since filled the crack in with gorilla glue, and it's just waiting to be sanded back down.

If that's a major stress point, I wonder if it would be a good idea to make a cut (kerf) clear across the width of the trailer, and fill the kerf with spray foam that you can sand before covering the outside?

GPW,

Those fabric ribbon thingies sound interesting. IT would cover the cut tabs for sure.

The ribbon I would recommend is grosgrain ribbon. It's finished on both sides and edges and is fairly sturdy. You would want to test it with the glue before you commit to buying enough for the seams. It comes in differing widths and colors.

Hot glue will certainly work. It might need a pin or two to hold it until the glue sets up. It doesn't ravel as much as many of the more decorative ribbons would.

A quick google brought up this site. The ribbons come up to 2.25" wide. Don't know anything about the company, but should give you an idea of what's available. Avoid anything with wire edges.

do not use crafters hot glue. i tried a couple of things using that last year and it just doesn't hold up. i did however run a thin line of gg right down the middle of what i needed to glue, and that worked great.
for something like this, IF you try gg, use a very thin line, and hold down flat.

Nice looking build. I have had a busy year and haven't been here much lately. I come back to find this. What do you think the final weight will be?
