I recently bought this one on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Weber-121020-Go-A ... eber+grill
I haven't used it yet but it looks to be a solid, well made grill.

I am not sure why peeps say "it depends on how and what you want to cook" . weber grill can cook at high temps for searing steaks. can cook at medium temps for pizza and you can also smoke like a champ in a weber. all in all it depends how much you want to spend. 90 bucks for a 18 1/2 weber to 800 bucks for a BGE. its your wallet. <not capitol one>.

Harley Davidson used to have a tee shirt that read, "If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand." The draw to the Big Green Egg is much the same. Plus the forum is really fun to read http://eggheadforum.com/

The original forum is actually: http://www.greeneggers.com
eggheadforums used to send you there, and the mods ran it for years. Corporate decided to go it alone for some reason and started their own at that address. The original mods got the archive and put it at greeneggers. Many of the same people, probably many of the same posts, I don't really go to egghead though.
Yeah the price of admission isn't cheap, that's why I said the most any "ceramic cooker" others are cheaper but they also won't rust. There are steel kamados, but I don't know about their rust resistance. I wanted to get one for camping, but ended up finding a smaller used egg on Craigslist. There was a guy next to me at a BBQ with a WSM. He unexpectedly ran out of charcoal because it was so cold and windy. He needed to get one of those blankets. My egg kept chugging along.

mikeschn wrote:A decision has been made... Since the Kamado can Sear at 700 degrees, Bake at 500 degrees, Grill at 350 degrees, and smoke at 200 degrees, I've decided to try that first.

P.S. Does anyone have a good ebook/pdf that tells me how to use this thing?
