Had a little more time, so I figured I'd see about taking the deck off and removing the rest of the lift mechanism. What a pleasant surprise when I discovered that the factory original Coleman construction had exactly ZERO fasteners holding the floor to the frame. It lifted right off. I guess they figure the uprights were enough to keep the deck from sliding. And the weight was enough to keep it from bouncing off. Still, seemed very strange to me.
But, that gave me plenty of time to remove the entire lift mechanism along with the remaining water and gas lines. I am now down to a bare frame! A little sanding, a little paining, and it's ready to build back up!
