Well here's to the weekend.....

Gonna try and hang the let down bed this weekend and build a corner cabinet.

Unearth a storage idea that was so simple it would have escaped me had I not read it.

To store sheets and towels simply layer them between the mattress and box springs. A little added cushion and they are at the ready when you change the bed linen. I will have the fixed spring frame and a single mattress so a mattress topper could be added and slip the extra bed and bath linen between the mattress and the topper.

Brother Bob,

I read your post, then slapped my forehead. Someone had a great idea! Now my head hurts.

 Good one! Usually, there is also space between the box spring frame and the actual springs. If you replace the flimsy bottom box spring liner with something a tad more durable (but still breathable) or simply reinforce along the edges of the liner, You could store shoes, etc. in there. I used to cat-sit for a cat that loved to get up under the bed, in between the springs and liner and use the liner like a hammock.

But then I'd have to evict the sheets of metal and thin plywood I already have stored there.

Well a late Monday update.....

Spent the AM getting my taxes figured. Made me wonder why if you have a baby on 12/31 you can claim him/her all year but if you are married for 3 quarters of the year you have to pay the single rate at the end for the whole year :x Any body got 1275 dollars ya don't need ?

Any way here is my weekend Got the space between the 2 cabinets put to good use.
Plate saucer and bowl storage then below that is now a drawer for 12 common spices ( not in this picture) then a shelf for foil wax paper freezer bags and parchment paper. Then the paper towel dispenser ( It was a tall candle stick at Goodwill on Friday )

Image

Cut a couple 1 x 6 's and some OSB window cut outs at work for a portion of my entertaiment center in the front passanger side corner of the caboose. The sink front was a donation from my neighbor Tommy. Spent a couple bucks on paint and a brush but that's all.

A good pick up and clean up and things are starting to look homey

After torturing myself about installing the RV double bowl sink in the kitchen counter between the microwave and the toaster oven and then having NO counter space. I finally decided to take the duo angle cabinet out of the house and install a larger bath sink that could do double duty as kitchen and bath sink 2 steps away in the bath area.

Image

The antique thru the wall faucet will be built into a smaller 45 degree wall and installed higher up and the 30 degree mirror will be moved behind the toilet

It doesn't look like a lot but it was almost 17 hours with false starts and trial and error mistakes and a shopping spree for glue and paint.

It's looking really great, but I'll bet the kitchen looks bare. Can't wait to see it.

Does that go for me too Bob?

It's the "little" things that seem to take so long to do.
Lookin' good

Rob posted this elsewhere on the forum but I wanted the tiny house people to not miss this!

It is a sweet piece of multi function furniture.

Early American "transformers" ;)
I like how these types of "conversion" pieces are designed, made, function. In my mind I envision making this kind of stuff for our li'l camper, but it never seems to work out for me..... works out great in my mind, but not on wood. :? If they would only design a cad program that could wire into my brain........ (we'd probably all still be using corn cobs instead of tp too)

Thanks for sharing Bob
