I don't have A/C, only the Fantastic Fan, because I don't have electricity a lot of times where I camp. I could have bought a 5000 btu AC unit for less than the reversing model Fantastic Fan, but I love it.
I usually use it blowing out, pulling a breeze through the windows. We have curtains on the windows, but sometimes will roll them up to keep from blocking the breeze. I have to roll them up if I set the fan blowing in, because it will slap the curtains shut against the windows if I don't.
We camped during the hottest part of summer once when the night temperature only dropped to about 89 degrees. We had the fan on high blowing in, and it was bearable, but not really comfortable. (I was wishing for the A/C then!)
I would definitely buy the In/Out model Fantastic Fan again. I cringed when I bought it initially, but it is probably the best money I spent on the project, comfortwise.
