W2, just works out the rounded upper part of the nose sits above the back of the pickup camper top, so it might tow OK ... .. and we’ll need some steps to get in ... :o HUGE!!! Smaller tires may help ... slightly ...

Wolf, I’m counting .... worse, the Domina' is counting ... :frightened:

I‘ve got a tire question ... can I use the smaller 12” tires instead of the 13’s on there now ? If I keep the 13’s , I’ll have to construct wheel wells .. grrrrr!!! Although HUGE , the trailer should still be fairly Light ... I see HF uses the 12” tires on it’s heaviest trailer ... Curious !!!

Check the load rating on the side walls. Could go with pop up trailer tires if you have to.

Here's what mine have right now:

Tire size is 5.70-8, which is an 8" rim. The ones I've seen all seem to be rated about 800lbs per. There is a 12" that fits the bolt circle and takes you to about 1000# per tire (that's I figure on switching to). OD is 16-17".

They are wide but from what I have heard can be expensive. And all things else equal would give a rougher ride. But if you wait to bug out, 5 miles per hour won't bother a thing.

Looks good! That is a lot of room. It'll help keep the claustrophobia at bay when you're bugged out.

THANKS Everybody !!! It’s great to be making some progress.. :D
New tires and rims ... have to get those ... and some steps ...maybe’ a little step stool like they use for getting on Trains..

5mph evac , Yes we’ve sat through a couple of those last minute traffic jams ... Brutal !!! :frightened: This time we’ll be leaving EARLY , if at all possible ... avoiding the misery of 14 hours to go 60 miles ... (that’s 4.285 mph ) Easy on tires , tough on people ... certainly no Fun at all ...

Next is to start adding the foam ... and getting the ribs cut for the nose ...
Have to order a Door and some windows ... Still pondering that ... Guess Flea Bay is the market of choice ... Still so much to do ...

Bonnie , Thanks !!! It’s coming along ... finally ... Anxious to see how yours develops too !!!

Looking around at tires .. Big selection from those 8” fatties to the usual everything else ... Odd , HF doesn’t sell 12” 4 lug rims/tires anymore ...afik .. :NC
Roughly guesstimating the total trailer weight .. with a finished empty trailer foam /skin and all, I come up with somewhere in the neighborhood of 850# (25% of that in floor weight alone :frightened: ) ... So I’m assuming  That twice the rated load limits of the tires would be OK .... But that’s for an empty trailer eh ? ... add the 500# of Beer and the safety margin lessens dramatically ... :o Likely the trailer will be lightly loaded in a realistic situation , until we arrive , and then gear transferred from our other vehicle(s) ... and then there’s Foamie #1 to haul “other” things ... Two vehicles , two trailers .... that’s a lotta’ stuff to move ... :frightened:

Also thinking about “stabilizers” ... Gotta’ have them ... Was considering the footed pipe and pin style seen on the Conestoga trailer in the Vintage plans section ... Practical ... easy enough to do ... pretty solid ... and none of that cranking business... grrrrr!!!! .... and Thrifty !!! ;)

First thoughts this morning after looking at the Beast ... Marker lights .... Although I’m just under the size limit @79” wide ... some markers might be a good idea anyway .... have a bunch of LED markers left over from previous builds . (bought and never used  ) Should be easy to install in the foam and I can run the wires inside through the lightening holes in the ribs ...

so many little details ... :?

Progress looks good GPdub.

I would caution against running the wires thru the holes in the ribs in any fashion that might temp someone to use the wires like a hanger rod; lest you run them inside of conduit.

KC, Hmmm??? never thought of that ... True huh !! OK,wires through conduit  8) ... PVC plumbing pipe should work , and maybe “she” can hang stuff on it , although there’s a gazillion rib holes to hang things on already ...

Here’s the lights I have already ...
