Just a thought, G. Have you searched to see if there are any RV salvage yards in your neck of the woods? I would think that there should be some picking material in that area. If not, there are a few on the web. There is one in southern Missouri http://colawrvsalvage.com/ .Could be a good source of windows and doors.

WOW, You are really getting it built. I guess the weather is affecting us both. we are both building.

My son says there is a company that makes nice mattresses for trucks for their bunks. I dont know the name but maybe some search on the net will work. He said they make lots of different sizes so maybe the wife can shop with you.

I am watching you!!!!! :R

Bill, somehow , over time , I’ve developed a deep distrust of “RV” companies ... That and the “Master of Coin” wants “new” ... But I will check around ... ;) Thanks !!!

Mary , yes , it’s happening ... :o Been talking about it long enough eh ?

I went by Vinnie’s yesterday with my Australian friend who was in town , planned the ribs for the front .... will go back this week for the cutting part (CNC) .. That will be the last of the CNC cut parts we need to finish this trailer ... 8)
Going to try and fit some foam sheets to the sides today ... the bottom straight ones anyway ... then comes the kerfing ...

The two bottom sheets are glued on and drying ... :D Best of all the foam is now stored in the trailer and NOT in my Studio .... so life there can return to normal .... if it ever was “normal" ...

I love the look of wooden framework like that.
It's a piece of art in itself.
It reminds me of the balsa WW2 fighter planes I put together as a kid.

George,

In the photo your jig looks like you used a heavy wire. Can you tell me what it is?

When I try to do the same with .035 welding wire in 1.5" blue foam it
bends before making 'cuts'. Even with 'no' pressure...

Thanks,
Pete

Are you using .035 or .35? I am using .30 welding wire. I am using a car battery charger set on 2 amp charge for the power supply. I found 3 feet of wire to be a good length to keep the heat right. Check out my hot wire thread for more info. viewtopic.php?f=55&t=55323

What I have a spool of is 30 thousandths, .030. I stopped at the local body shop and got 10 ft of .035 but found that no better. I am using 3 ft lengths and it bends before it cuts. I have a 10/2 amp charger on 2a and the start setting. In the charge setting it keeps cycling, clicking and getting cold.
