The real problem is...we didn't have any of the smart phones back then to really record all of our stupid stuff....not that it matters, but would be nice to document just how stupid we were for those that may doubt our stupidity, and may help remind us that we were stupid kids at one time. It would at least back us up around the campfire when telling stories, hey, Kirk has what's left of his toe..I can't make my knee pop when I want anymore. Doug

Don't worry Doug, I knew you weren't talking about me, just needling you a little. Kirk, i missed your story last year, we must share missing digit stories over a campfire soon. What is it with you boys? Oh yeah, now I remember, that missing half a leg on that Y chromosome that makes it unstable and likely to to say "hold my beer". I believe I remember a campfire conversation about poking things with a stick. You Y chrom type people just can't not poke nasty things with a stick!

So back to the Rules of Camp Siduri. Some of you had good ideas which need to be added. -

There will be some basic rules for CAMP SIDURI.

1. There will be no talk of several subjects. The punishment for speaking on forbidden subjects is the direct Shun. (You will be ignored or rejected from camp until you are forgiven) Those forbidden subjects are A. Work B. Medical issues C. Any talk of retirement benefits you may be receiving. There will also be no complaining of any kind.

2. Never under any circumstances will any person at Camp Siduri awaken any other camper who is asleep, naps included. It does not matter if said person is snoring loudly, face down in the dirt. Leave them alone!

3. It is ok to drink scotch anytime at camp Siduri as long as you dont get too drunk and go nuts. Out of control drunks are not allowed.

4. No vegetarians are allowed at camp Siduri at any time. If you are a vegetarian and slip passed the guards dont speak of the ills of meat or you will be shunned.

5. Do not use my sink in my teardrop unless you are willing wipe it clean of spots. No exceptions.

6. There will be no and I mean no store bought cookies at camp Siduri.

New rules.

7. My camp, my rules, and no shunning the Pharaoh.

8. No makup. Unless you want to.

9. No clocks. Eat when you are hungry - Sleep when you are tired. Seclusion will be tolerated until we need players for ladder ball.

10. No microwaves at camp Siduri. You may have one at your camp, not mine.

11. Dogs and pets will be tolerated - bring your poop bag! Remember people do not think Fi Fi is as cute as you do. Just sayin.

12. This one is important. Pictures for posting on the forum are tolerated until sunset only! After sunset you will be shunned if you take pictures and post them on this or any site.

13. Last rule for the day. I think there should always be fresh flowers at camp. Grant and Kay had flowering plants at their campsite and it was very cool.

There will be many more rules, some written and some not. You will be expected to know all the rules and pass a test if need be at any time. Failure will result in being shunned until further notice.

Well, this is a "campfire" thread...that pretty much means stuff that people might talk about around a campfire. Sometimes its Coleman...sometimes not. There are lots of other threads specifically for any number of gas appliance items.

That was my thought, too, and seems to be the attitude of the thread originator. "Come on in!"

You got Coleman stuff to talk about? Bring it on. No Coleman stuff at the moment? Throw another log on the fire and crack another beer.

Possible. Rule add: Being onside is better than being outside. Hauling your living room to the woods is not camping.

+3 Hey it's Captin Kirks thread and he don't mind. I look at this thread as the "Off Topic" of the Vintage Camping Equipment section. After all isn't sitting around the campfire discussing things and telling stories what a good campfire is about?*
*see page 135 Camp Siduri rule #1
