Congratulations on your first trip. I agree with you about solitude. I would love to be able to have days off midweek again. I used to and I miss it. I know what you mean about getting away from people. I like people generally, I just don't like noisy people. I'm not antisocial, I just don't care for large crowds and/or fighting for space. I think there's lots of us on this forum that are like that.

I agree with the "getting away" mentality. I do enjoy attending gatherings and have had great fun and met wonderful people. However, most of my camping is done solo, with my camper dog. I recently spent 3 days next to a group of 20 somethings with several children and lots of dogs. One of the children only made negative sounds all the time. Fortunately I met some nice folks on the other side of the campground and spent time visiting with them, when I wasn't off hiking or exploring the area. Why is it that children feel the need to scream all the time when outside and where are the parents? Certainly not keeping their children from disturbing other campers. :?

I'm done with my rant now, and yes, I do feel better.

PS - I am also a parent and my son was NEVER allowed to behave in the ways that I have witnessed other children in campgrounds. Now I'm really done. LOL

Glad to hear you had such a great first outing! I love your trailer both inside and out.

And I also get what you meant about "getting away from people." While traveling I'm finding just the quiet time on the road, especially when you seem to be the only one on the interstate and the scenery around you looks like something from a magazine or the Travel Channel there's a sense of liberation and all of the negativity that others bring purposely or inadvertently into your life ceases. That alone time is now precious to me and is definitely part of what I love most about owning a tiny trailer. The gas station stops and campgrounds when people want to ask questions and see inside are a lot of fun so I've found the entire experiences balance out nicely.

my wife and I enjoy our solitude when camping. I warned her our building a Vardo may take some of that solitude away. We will have to search for the remote sites
