Sequoia Build in Foam

Postby CampsALot » Mon Jul 08, 2013 7:20 pm

Will update my project here,

Today,
-- Cut out the opening for the front window
-- Installed wooden framing for the door in the rear wall
-- Glued three 2X8 panels together for the roof.
I need to install wiring, lights and pre cover the ceiling (roof), before installing it on the trailer.

Not a bad way to spend three hours after work.

My little travel trailer LOOKS like a little travel trailer !!! :) :) :)

Not much getting done today.

It's the family barbecue day. (Which is good too...)

I did have to take the trailer out of the garage to get the kayaks down.
I couldn't resist the opportunity to see how it looked, (Will look?), connected to the Jeep.

I like it.
Tomorrow will be a busy day on the trailer...

Warren

Moving Along ...

I didn't get as much done this weekend as I'd hoped, but I still made progress.

I decided to change the shape of the wheel wells to make it easier for covering with the canvas.
Thats not as hard as it sounds when using foam. I glued the original cutouts back in, wait a while for the glue,,, cut the new shape back out. :)
Went from round to the angled look. To be honest, I think it suits the trailer better.

Finished the wheel wells and filled all the 'openings' left here and there with 'foam in a can'.
WOW, my foam trigger finger was working extra well today !! :o ( 31'C 94'F, in the shade may have had something to do with it too)

Now it will match the jeep better too. If you did not know, the trapezoid wheel well is a Jeep trademark as well as the 7 slot grill.
