I believe that may have been the first one he ever made. The painted surface probably helps protect the OSB, at least for a while. The video said that he made several before he found just the right style. The one he is making now looks like a partial tube made out of some sort of plastic (?) sheeting.
I like that there is a door on each end so that the breezes can blow through on a hot day. I don't like the idea of the locking hasp outside because someone could lock another person inside, like a cage. However, if one of the doors only locks from the inside, that might be okay because, when you are inside, you can still get out. When you go out, though, you'd have to lock the inside lock and go out the other door and lock that one from the outside. Also, the pipe vent is an inexpensive way to allow for ventilation. It's a nice, thoughtful idea to put into practice.
