My husband and I are just about the proud owners of a 7x12 v nose cargo trailer. We plan to convert it for camping, but I have ordered it with some of the basics I figured I couldn't travel without: windows, 36 inch rv door with screen, 30 amp electrical package, 6 inch added interior height, drop axle, ramp in the back, exterior plug, brace and wire for AC, trailer brakes, and rear stabilizer jacks because of the single axle.
It has taken me several months to decide- I began thinking in earnest in March, but I have been dreaming for years. I started with thoughts about tent trailers, then travel trailers, then tear drop trailers. Since we are hauling a couple of recumbent trikes and maybe a couple of kayaks from time to time, that just wouldn't fit in any of the other options, my tear drop research led me to a cargo trailer to convert.
We want to take the trikes with us without as much fear of theft , and be able to camp at many of the trails across the US. Since we moved to South Carolina from Nevada, we have learned that we just do not have what it takes to camp in a tent when it rains everyday and there are so many bugs and critters in this part of the world.
So, we ordered the cargo trailer from a local dealer, that in itself took a couple of weeks to decide since most of the trailers are built in Georgia, it took some research to decide to just buy locally, the trailer is still being built in Georgia!
I should get a call this week for window and electric plug in (3) placement. I appreciate any suggestions you might have about the placement of those

And we should be able to pick the trailer up the end of August. Then I will post pics as we make it our home away from home . (We hope to drive across country with it next June)
