Some of my fixtures use the 921 12 volt bulb. They do a nice job of lighting up the trailer, but put a drain on the battery. I'd like to replace them with LED bulbs but there are so many types in the T10 size, I'm not sure which ones to get. Does anyone know which style of T10 LED bulb most closely resembles the light output of the 12 volt 921 bulb? Some of the LED bulbs are quite pricey, so I'd like to know in advance which ones to get to avoid costly trial and error. I need the bulbs to be able to light up an area instead of casting a narrow beam of light or give off a horrible blue color.
I bought some RGB 5050 waterproof LEDS online and I'm putting them inside traditional tail lights. I've been playing with the wiring and don't have any specific "internal" photos but I'll add some more to tomorrow. I'll add some LED's into some 1970's VW beetle tail lights.
Here is the details on how I've done the lights. With RGB lights, if you use one colour (red for example) only the red part of the LED lights up. If you use white, all three (RGB) light up and is much brighter. Usual caveats apply, check the regs/laws/standards for using LEDS where you live.
In our first tear the fixtures took the wedge base, I found LED/SMD arrays that had adapters which I used 3M double stick tape to fasten to the fixture.
Are you talking about inside cabin lighting? If so, I read (probably here) that blue lighting throws off our circadian rhythm (screws up our sleep cycle), and should be avoided in the sleeping area. I have blue and white lighting in the galley/storage area, and selectable/variable colored lighting in the cabin (all are LEDs). I bought all at Ikea (110vac), and Autozone (12vdc).
Pay attention to the lumen output. Low numbers are low/dim light. High numbers are brighter.

Waiting for "someday" will leave you on your deathbed wondering why you didn't just rearrange your priorities and enjoy the time you had, instead of waiting for a "better" time to come along...
You want a "warm white" LED as opposed to "cool". Warm white will be closer to yellow and the cool is more blue. Here's a link to a bunch on eBay. YMMV eBay linky Bruce
