I'm leaving mine pretty much original, just painting white and considering a 3rd brake light.

I forgot to ask. How difficult is it for you to get in and out. I'm old and a bit broad in the beam. It would be pretty embarrassing for me to buy a trailer I can't get into!

It's ok. My method is to sit down on the bed, and then with my chin tucked I lean back until my head clears the weather strip. Head first works also. These things are bigger than they look!

I don't think putting one together from scratch would be difficult at all. It's 5 pieces, including the trailer. I think the body only bolts down in 3 places.

The problem I was having with construction, was which trailer to use. From photos it looks like the distance between springs was about 4 feet. But, the wheels appear to be about 6 feet apart. This means that I would a) have to get a 4 ft trailer and then a longer axle, b) get a 5 ft trailer and then figure out how to mount the cabin or c) have a custom trailer made. Along with transportation costs, all of this adds up to very nearly what I expect for a usable trailer. So I gave up on the idea. I don't know if the one I would like to buy is in as good shape as yours, but it does make for an easier project.

Thanks for the info on getting in and out. I was a bit concerned and my family thinks its too small. It will be fun to see how it all works out.

Well, the lady sold MY trailer to somebody else. I'm a lil P.O'd So, if a newbie shows up with an Outbacker, we'll know where it came from!! Looks like I may find out how difficult it would be to put together one from scratch. Geez, am I disappointed. Guess I will just keep looking!
