Well, it’s back to raining every day now ... Thank goodness the FS is all “dried in” with only a few of the minor bits left to finish ... Wiring up the tail lights , adding the mud flaps , and reflectors , and finishing the inside in the lower nose ... and finishing the undercoating , which will be soon as we’ll get the spray undercoating today on the way to the Grocery . All coming together ... and luckily the tropics are still fairly quiet ... so far ...

I called the State Police office for “trailer stamp” information , and found out I may need some sort of paperwork on the trailer :frightened: ... For the “homemade” category , we must have a bill(s) for the materials , or some other documentation that it was actually Homebuilt and not just a re-purposed commercial trailer ... Mine is more a “combination” of old trailer parts and new materials , all with no papers .. :o Thinking I can get a notarized statement from the builder ... That may (or may not ) do it !!! :NC Last trailer , I showed them the “official” paperwork and they didn’t even look at the trailer, and gave me the stamp ...That was easy !! I might get Lucky again ... :D I’d originally thought of just bringing the builder along with me (my buddy) , and having him explain .... but it would now seem the bureaucrats prefer the paperwork to anything else ...

Checked ... 95% humidity ... next foamie , we’ll skip the canvas and just make it a wet suit ...

They recently started doing that here too. We do that stuff through our equivalent of the DMV (and monopoly mandatory insurer: don't get me started on that one). I guess, in their infinite wisdom and the perpetual need to justify their existence, they decided that people stealing boat trailers and registering them as U-built to 'launder' them was a problem. Of course, a padlock would fix that just as easily and would actually hold people responsible for themselves (can't have that now, can we?) and never mind that it's easy enough to tell an EZLoader or ShoreLand'r from a U-built...

We now have to provide bills of sale for the suspension and the majority of build materials (60% I think). Apparently the counter-monkey is somehow able to assess whether or not your invoices add up to at least 60% (without the need to ever actually see the trailer) but can't tell a factory built trailer from a homebuilt.
I honestly don't think I could ever work for government :? :?

...end of rant... :x

Just a thought as far as the undercoat goes - are you going to have room to keep the spray can vertical when you crawl under there ?
At least the FS is light enough you could probably flip 'er on her side to paint the bottom

That's one of the beauties of a computer and a word processor. With templates in the word processor, you can crank out all sorts of official looking paperwork. A few years back, when funds were tight and I needed to have proof of insurance to get the car inspected, I cranked out a "temporary" insurance certificate. Of course this was before the state had an online computer registry of car insurance policies (which hopefully means that I'm beyond he statute of limitations on this experience.) :worship:

Just another thing we’ll have to deal with ... :duh:

On a lighter note .... Went to the Wal Mart today for some undercoating , and a few groceries ... Of course they didn’t have the undercoating ...

Went in the garden center looking for a short hose to hook up to my rain barrel ... just in case it ever stops raining ... And then I spotted them .... :o Better Homes and Garden Deep seat chair cushions ... Big thick ones ... on CLEARANCE... So I bought 8 of them ... the tab , tax and all came to $116.63 ... Bedding problem solved, and I can stack em’ all kinds of ways ... Now that’s THRIFTY !!!! :D That leaves a few coins for more Ballast ...

Geez!! You could almost drown in weather that humid... I'm in Las Vegas right now, it's hot (like always) but humid too. Yuk. I HATE humidity. :? :? :( :(

Went out in the “heated pool “ ... only 95F- 86% humidity now ... Sprayed two cans of the undercoating on , just a little left to do ... much easier than brushing in this configuration ... and as suggested , sprayed into the nooks and crannies ... Much easier than brushing , and surprisingly Not that expensive @ 5 USD a can .... 8) :D

 The difference between Baking and Boiling ....

Good news though , at night it’s been actually getting below 80F ... a welcome relief ... Just a cooler pool in the evening ...

Since getting those cushions, the wife is all excited about the interior , and now has me chasing down a rug ... while she’s assembling our pillow collection and other trailer goodies ... and has even mentioned a generator purchase in the future ... :o (she’s thinking if the power goes out here, we’ll just go live in the trailer ... That would work with a small generator ;) ) We already have a cheap HF solar panel set up and DD battery for the other things , like lights and fans , etc....
Now it would appear we might get a break with Hurricane season this year , the peak of the season is on the 10th , and yet nothing has threatened... Which now gives us a little more time to complete the FS properly (another year almost ) ... That’s a big relief ...

On another note , while the wife is gathering the goodies , I told her it would be a good time to clean out our “Utility room” , and gather all our yearly clothes donations , which we give to a local distribution center that distributes them Free to the poor ... A chance for HRH to go shopping (again) , and me to get rid of all my unworn Polo shirts and Cargo pants which now seem to be pass’e ... ;) With her 3 full closets  , and my “cupboard under the stairs “ , that adds up to several huge bags of clothes donations ...a lot still with the tags ... I told her , if we’re not going to wear it , somebody else could ...
