You can get lost here on the home place over 80 acres to get lost on. and there is 60 miles to Atlanta and 30 miles to some great shopping , 90 miles from some outlet malls. So we are open !!!!!The Light is on and just call.

yes they keep telling we may get some rain out of the "tropical storm" and I will be honest, if so it will probably stall here in the Atlanta area, just what we need more rain!!!!

Though we would certainly like to see the FoamStream in action, the down side is that it means you're having to bug out... Stay safe, keeping fingers, toes and eyes crossed for you. Weather channel said this morning that it's headed NNW and should only leave you with a tropical storm and not a hurricane. I'm not sure where the dividing line is between storm and hurricane but if I remember it's about 70 mph?? So rain driven by 68 mph wind is OK???? :? :o I'll live with heavy snow and an occasional earthquake :R  :D

 So far looks minor. Rain amounts for low lying areas would be the biggest concern. Looks like hurricane force winds won't reach shore, but some coastal areas will get them between 50 and 63 knots.

Well now, looks like it’s headed Right toward my neighborhood :frightened: ... I’m East of the city and more “in the cone” ... Doesn’t take hurricane force winds to do a lot of damage as we found out with Isaac last year ... :o It “could” be worse ... but it could be better too ...(like if it just went away ) ...

But (the qualifier ) , it is a good “Test" for the FoamStream ... like towing it down the highway @ 70mph ... Like the Fastest the FS will ever go ... And we’ll see if all that sealing keeps out any leaks ... Been good in the usual deluges so far ... As is now , the trailer will be facing into the wind , so may also benefit from any “streamlining” that crept into the design ... Thinking about hooking the pickup truck to it to more solidly anchor the trailer ... Don’t want it blowing into the woods ...
Just making my preparations now ... We’ll see how this all plays out ... The usual bit of excitement at the end of the year ... not unexpected ...

Depending on your soil type, you could get a couple of those auger type sand anchors, twist them into the ground and tie the back down like they do airplanes on the apron. Some of the chunker machines use that technique to keep their machines from hopping, or worse, flipping over.

Soil ??? Gumbo mud !!!... Rich organic topsoil, 6” down and you hit gray clay ... :o All alluvial soil built up by the Mississippi River over who knows how long ... not a rock to be found...
Luckily I live inside a forest canopy of thick trees... which really slows down any wind, on the house & trailer level ... Only have to worry about the trees falling on the house or trailer ... and since the bulk of the rain is on the eastern side of the storm due to upper wind shear and the approaching cold front , likely we won’t get “that much“ rain , and thankfully , already the winds are decreasing ... always a good sign ... We may get lucky as yet with just a little Wind ... Schmaybe’ ??? :NC Luckily Most of the weight of the FS is down Low , where the stabilizing effect of the low center of gravity will be more effective.. And , the wind “should" easily pass over and around the rounded surfaces... we’ll see huh ?

But I do worry about everybody right along the coast east of here... those low areas are usually heavily populated... :frightened:

you need to secure the foamstream like a blimp, add castering wheels that can be deployed just under each side of the axle or on stableizer jacks under the back. Then anchor a mooring mast (an old telephone pole cut off at 2') in the middle of your yard with a trailer hitch set into the top... the trailer will just weathervane to ride out any strong winds.
hope all is well

Actually that’s a Cool idea Row’  ... but we would have to pave the Foamie “roundhouse" area... probably won’t work as well on gravel , unless it’s really windy ... :frightened:

Luckily (a Miracle) , the storm is dying off before reaching landfall ... Almost not even a "tropical storm" anymore <40 mph :worship:

"And now for something completely different” .... back to Foamie’ trailer building ... :D  8)

The FS will not get the “storm” test  ... That’s OK ! Probably best as it was never designed to weather out a really Big storm , but more to Run Away from .... EVAC / BUGOUT!!! ;)

Now it’s raining .... nothing unusual about that ...

Since it’s been raining we’ve been checking the inside of the FS , and have even placed an old towel at the base of the door inside , to catch any “leaks” ... but so far , nothing  ... But we did find a small water spot on one of the cushions, right under the side window :o ... turned out to be a small plastic clip in the windows that did not allow the window to seal completely ... May have been some type of “shipping/packing ” thing , but once removed the window sealed tightly , and all 3 had the clip ... Fixed now ! Don’t know how I overlooked that ...

Sometimes windows will have a spacer(s) on the bottom so that the float in the opening; mine do... little rubber pads... and I lost one of them before I realized they were there. "Gee, how come the window is sitting crooked?" :?

KC, these were more at the end where the window closed ... just little cheap plastic clips , have no idea why they were there, the windows close fine now ... That’s why I thought it was some kind of “shipping” thing to keep the windows from slamming around in transport ... I dunno’ ...

Not able to leave well enough alone ... Thoughts keep running around about the small trim piece under the Moon ... Gotta’ put “something” there... (obsessed :o ) ...
Bit of carpet would be easy , kinda’ “old school” now , perhaps a dust catcher ... maybe not ... ? Thought of a strip of metal ... shiny ... or even mirror tiles , which may be a “bit much” . Ruled out early was the ”tuck and roll” trim strip ... Naugahide’/ Pleather' over foam .... Too expensive at the upholstery shop, too labor intensive for at home ... Thought of rope LED lights (solar powered naturally ) on a beer can collection .... that would never fly with the wife :R Then the idea of a “Mini Bar "... :D "a little Tavern under the moonlight” ... 8) :wine:

or just paint it Black ...
