The first time I came here, I asked what they did in the summer.
The answer was:
"Well... it depends on if it falls on a weekend or not"

There's already been one major snowstorm this year ...

The country here is beautiful, esp. in the badlands.
I've been able to do some sightseeing, and visit some historical sites.

and now the wife won't let me play checkers :o

I got a chance to run up to the National park.
It was awesome !!
On a 14 mile drive we saw eagles, prairie dogs, huge magnificent elk, buffalo, wild horses, and a dozen mule deer.

Re: The Big Pink ... slowly but surely

The door is finally finished. :)

I installed the 1/4 plastic ? window using the same 3M 5200 I used to install the other windows.

Then on to the door knob...
I bought a regular house door knob to install. When I attempted to fit it, I found it wouldn't fit a 2" door. The biggest it would go was 1-3/4".
The square shaft and the lock rod weren't long enough, so I rooted around the garage and found a different style of door look that has a "C" shaped shaft that was a little bit longer.

On to the hinges ...
The canvas was doubled up on the edges of the door, so the piano hinge wouldn't fit any more :(
I thought about mortising regular door hinges into the wood, but then I found surface mount hinges.
They are about half the thickness of a regular hinge because of how they are built. They worked great.

So now the TD is "dried in " !

I'm still working on the tongue extension.

Picture to follow....

So I take it your home ? How is the arm and I found that when I made the doors put wood around them they fit the door holes perfect what I forgot was the canvas wrap. that makes it 1/4 larger on the doors and 1/4 inch larger on the frames Big Difference, NO FIT. I know you are lucky to find the part you needed. I had to purchase a belt sander. as my remedy.

I know you are glad to be home and back to work on the Big Pink.

Mary,
Thanks for the reply !
It was Lonewolf that has the broken arm ...

Lonewolf,
I hope you're doing better :NC ?

I am glad to be back... I've only been able to work a little bit here and there on the Big Pink.
There was just enough room for the thinner hinge, but that was only by luck and not by planning.

I'm doing better, hope to get rid of this cast next week :worship: Rain here all day yesterday then toranados last evening (small & short lived , thank God) They postponed our trick r treaters till today..... Been busy putting in a new security system in my home and shop this week... try that 1 handed.... I told ADT what they could do with their constant price increases and subscribed to a new system that uses cell signal... then shut off my landline as only reason I had it still was for security system... now my cost for security is cut in half....

Time for an update.
I've been doing a little bit now and then....
I thought I finished the door
115361

But after being outside in the rain, a small amount of water is running under the door. I might have to add a piece of something across the bottom of the door. That's the bottom in the picture where there's no gasket
115360
I also started on the inside. I cut out the foam in the front so I could have access to store things. I'll add a lip across the bottom to keep things from sliding out. 115362

And I cut the bed platform in half. I'll hinge the back half to access the rear compartments. I'll take out the middle piece so I can store the popup under there.
That'll leave the 2 side compartments. The front of the platform will be secured in place.
115363

Here's a picture from Mikes thread showing the foam compartments .
115365

After cutting out some more foam, I'm going to cover all exposed foam with canvas to protect the foam, and keep it from deteriorating.
