Randy , I believe it’s the left over stuff from the concrete mixing process ... rocks , sand and cement. Once it’s spread out and rained on it gets pretty hard ... and it’s really Thrifty ... $150 for 12 yards delivered ... waay enough for what I need to do .... waaay more than I want to spread by myself ...

Used this stuff on my driveway when I first built the house (15 years now ) ands it’s still fine , no touch ups required as yet ... Driveway was river sand base (dredged from the Miss. river , 2 blocks away , but not by me of course...

) , highway mat ( heavy woven plastic), and washout over that ... The neighbors used limestone and no mat (prettier) , but theirs has to be re-done most every years .... about 4-5 times as much $ as this stuff

... I never was much one for “appearance” , just what worked ...

Not trying to impress anyone in the woods with my driveway .
It was my slab contractor that put me on to this , taking me to his house , showing me his 25 year old driveway .... still solid ... no ruts ... so I did the same ...

So Glad i did ...
