I did try the hot water trick but the foam was sanded off not compressed on the edge. That is why I needed fill. I was not originally going to build shelves these came about by accident or new thinking and new designing. or evolving..

Thinking is Good !!! Building shelves is Good !!! Evolving is the sum of thinking and building ..and making mistakes , then having to do more thinking ... It’s a vicious circle eh ???
ps. I try to do as much thinking as I can every day ... and even sometimes before I speak ... :o    :R

Mary , don’t feel bad about a little gap in the foam /board ... If you could see how much Great Stuff I used to fill in the gaps on the Foamie #1 and the FS too , you’d be amazed.... and I’d be embarrassed...

It wasn't just the gap it was that it glued on the bottom of the edge and I needed it to be glued at the top . It is what I call a edge to keep things from accidentally falling off the shelf. The fill worked and after a couple of pictures I will be putting canvas around the shelf.

Sometimes God is good to me. Today the Propane gas was delivered to the house and the man who delivered knows his stuff about propane as his usual job is to repair and to put together propane things, piping for fireplaces, heaters and other propane equipment. When I told him what I wanted he said for me to get the stuff(pipe, elbows, regulator and then he said he would be happy to put it together if I would show him how and help him this summer to build his own foamie for hunting. Boy I feel lucky. he was very nice and said my teardrop was perfect. and a hunting one was a great idea. he is going to miss tonight hunting because it is too cold 22 degrees if he had a Teardrop he would rig it for heat. Well he made the offer so I am going to take him up on it that way I won't have to worry that it will be done right. Yea. one more thing gonna get done.

Hi Mary.
My name is Bob and my wife told me you stopped by our house to look at our teardrop camper last week.
I have checked out your build from the beginning of your journal and am very impressed with your build. I would love to come by your
place and see it first hand someday.

:) If you'd like to see my build journal, this is the link. viewtopic.php?t=46104
All the best,
Bob (& Reggie)

Bob I am so glad you came on here and saw my build. I loved your TD you did such a great job. I was so impressed. I know your wife thought I was crazy but at least I was for real. She was so accommodating showing me the cabinets and all the electrical. She seemed to have a great time showing me. You did such a great job. My build is not hardly finished but wouldn't mind you seeing it any time. but please wait for a non rainy day. I know our weather has not been the best for being outside. I run to the barn take measurements and run back to the house. Hopefully you can see and keep up with my progression here until you get a chance to see it in person. Reggie was really sweet and I hope we get to camp together some day in the future. Send me a PM when and if you have a little time to come over and I will give you directions.

Thanks GPW. they say that a critter for us wise generation, is very good for us and will even keep us alive for a few extra years. His name is Scruffie. He is 3 years old and is a very sweet dog. The vet says he is part carien terrier. I asked what part and she said the part that says "SQUIRREL". He is so funny, in the middle of the five acres next door there are 4 pecan trees. There are 5 in my yard. He chased a "squirrel" over from my house to the neighbors trees. When I got over there I hollered at him and he did the quickest look at me, an instant turn of his head then he went back to looking at the squirrel in the tree. I know he would have followed that squirrel to China. He is a mess. I have to keep him on a leash right now but some day I hope to have the fence repaired and the armadillo holes filled up.

tac, if you look at the previous pictures, I took a piece of 1/2 inch foam and glued it to the side of the 2 inch foam forming a ledge. The two inch foam had been drug on the ground or cut funny so the 1/2 left a gap in one end. It was not square so it had a gap I mixed some sanding dust out of the sander with glue and used it to fill the gap. I covered it in canvas so now on the bedroom side of the shelf it will be out about 4 inches. Just a little shelf to set my tea on and my glasses the stuff from my pockets and a box of Kleenex and maybe even my phone and other little things. The 1/2 inch ledge will just keep things from sliding off and onto my legs.
