That is one cool looking old picture! Only two problems I see are it is still flying with the radial engine, and the fuel burn would make your eyes water! If it had a turbine conversion I would take it in a minute.

Nicely 'Pimped-out " version... :lol: While Marine One is an H-3A with an extended fuselage section, an external APU
(Auxiliary Power Unit), and more wax than Johnson or McGwire's can make in a month. Those A models were re-named
the VH-3D Later in it's life. Been Haulin' POTIS & FLOTUS since Ike and Mamie.

I used to fly and jump from the G models when I was in the Navy as a Search and Rescue swimmer.

R-22's are scary! I don't want one to even fly over my house, much less be the stick actuator.

8) Okay then. I'll drive the launch vehicle RV and you fly the plane:

I hope that Ford has the big V-8 and can do at least 85 mph :worship:

Prem, Howdy;

Think those pipers only need about 45 to 60 mph to get in the air... :thinking:

Hank,

My hangglider only needed about 25 MPH to fly. I did a couple of "helicopter launches" from the tops of a couple of mountains without even taking a step. That was so different from the usual. Once I ran off a short plywood ramp out over the face of a mountain in AZ with very little speed. That was scary. :frightened:

Mine was like this one, a Moyes GTR (glass tipped radial) wing with variable geometry at the pull of a chord (slack for take offs and landings):
