Looking Good Tac !!! We used a regular door threshold on our door bottom , and lots of sealant (caulk) ...

Just a light fabric over the interior foam will provide a significant increase in the strength .... I used old bedsheets with Great results .... and it was much easier to apply than a heavier canvas.

I also did the tongue extension (no pix) and set the front box in place to see what it would look like.
But that old wooden box is VERY heavy... I think it's way too heavy for the front. Especially since I plan on putting a 40 lb. AC in the middle of the front.
AC would be down low mounted on the floor. So I might cut the back and bottom out of the box and use it to "hide" the AC , maybe ? If I did that I wouldn't need the sliding shelf shown below.

Tac, that box is just too pretty to stick out on the front like that .... Maybe use it inside as Ballast (and storage) Put a Foam box on the front ... weighs nothing (or very little actually)

Sliding shelf ??? is that access to the storage ... ?

The sliding shelf is potentially for the AC unit.
That's so I could slide the AC inside while not in use with a waterproof "door/cover".
To use the AC, open/remove the door and pull the back of the AC outside the TD.
Seems simple enough, there are many examples on the forum. The problem is the waterproofing part.

On the FS AC cutout , we made all the cuts face down at an angle towards the outside , assuming rain can’t go uphill... Just a canvas covered foam plug with thin ply glued on the back (cutout from the AC mount inside) ...Worked so far ... and the angle is a good angle for the unit to drain properly . Around here with all our humidity , they drip constantly .. making huge wet spots wherever they drain ... ( a bucket, checked often, is indicated)

Looking good TAC, I agree with GPW, thats much too nice a box for the nose. If you're looking to shield you're AC with it, I'd make it out of foam, and faux paint the canvas to make it look like the wood box. I made my nose box out of foam, used a couple of 1x4's at the bottom to make it a bit more rigid and covered it in canvas. Works great!

I haven't been able to get a lot done, but I have been doing a little.
Here's a pix of what it looked like under the bed support.


So I cut out a bunch of the foam....

and ended up with this.

I don't like the idea of bare foam, so I'll be using the plastic corner support on top and covering in canvas

that is nice!!! with our cold weather not a lot of us are making a lot of progress. You are doing great. just remember when it is really hot you will love your Birthday present . I am making a trip to the Big store in a couple of days and spend some money too.

I added my front porch light .....
I liked the idea of having that grid over the glass to protect it. It's a marine light I found at HD.

It's mounted to a piece of wood I inserted into the foam before I put the canvas on.
Of course, I still haven't run the wiring to get power yet
