I worked a little on the electrical today...
cut the hole:


Installed the electrical input connector:




Ran the wire:


and installed the switch :


I still have to finish the interior wiring, I have to install a junction box with 4 outlets and hook up the power feed to the light switch.

I installed the outlet, the power feed and the wire feeding the switches come up through the bottom.
The box is screwed to the floor under the front shelf in the corner.


So... I plugged the teardrop in, hit the switch, and now I have lights

It's interesting to me how much a little electricity and light bring the whole build to a much higher level. I understand why people don't put in electrical (too hard, too expensive, minimalist design, etc) and I encourage everyone to build what's right for them but in my opinion, electrical really brings a nice build up to the level of a great build. (unless you're like KC, in which case even a simple box would be a work of art... )

I think I've settled on a paint scheme... We like the idea of a retro sort of color for the stripe, but I'm open to suggestions on color or design ...?



Any suggestions on how best to paint this ?

I have a few questions ...
Like: to get a clean edge, do I pull the tape off while the paint is still wet ? or let it dry and then pull it off ?
Should I outline the bluish color in a darker "pinstripe" to make it pop ? Will actual pinstripe tape stick to the canvas ?
Just how hard would it be paint a thin stripe ?

As always, thoughts or comments are always welcome...
