33 years of being married. Can't remember how long we dated before that! My husband is in the Navy. He travels a lot. One or two weeks here and there are fine, but the 9+months really bite. We are also away from each other when one of the kid is in the hospital (which is quite frequently, and for long periods of time). And then there are the camping trips my other daughter and I make alone (while he stays with the sick daughter). It is REALLY appreciated when he gives me time to get away, but I'd rather it be going away WITH him, not without him. For me getting away is getting away from regular life, not my family.
BUT-
If I read the first post correctly I think Slow was asking if we thought it was crazy to have 2 teardrops. He wasn't wanting to part ways with his first teardrop and wants to build another one, but wants to keep both of them. I don't think it is CRAZY, but I wouldn't keep 2 just for me. I'd use the first one to pay for the parts for the 2nd one. But, if they were different types of campers I would be way more tempted to keep them both. Maybe your wife would like to camp with you if she had a camper that she likes? If she had a camper that SHE likes then keeping the teardrop for when you go alone might be more reasonable IMO. Just a thought!
