Hi everyone!
My name is Charlyn, CJ for short, and you can call me Ceej, BeCeejed, or "That weird texan chick," its all fine by me.
I love the beach and use to live in FL, but now I live in Central Texas. I am, however, about 3 hours or so from Corpus Christi/Port Aransas. I recently got a job where I work a 4/10 schedule so my now always 3-day weekends are super. My new plan going forward is to find a way to camp at the beach.
Since I recently traded down in power from a 6 cyl jeep clocked for towing to a 4 cyl Sonata that can't tow anything (1000lb tow capacity, I'm sure some of you are familiar with THAT issue), I was worried I would have to tent-camp, which is a nightmare at the beach for setup in wind conditions alone. Then I found you guys on a google search and my new plan is to build a light teardrop for me and my pup to weekend in.
I'll need a lot of help cause I've built a doghouse, some bookshelves, and I've watched someone pack bearings before, but thats it. I wouldn't have even thought of attempting this if you guys didn't have a RIDICULOUS and fabulous amount of resources I perused lightly while waiting for registration.
If I take it slow, design well, and work carefully, I feel like the dog and myself will go back to being beach bums in quality comfort. I'm so excited!
I'm working out some design specs based on many of the resources linked in the stickies on these forums. I'll post something about it when I feel I need to start asking questions I can't already find the answer for. Till then, I'll be surfing around the forum and spying on all of your wonderful projects.
