It's too late now - I already ordered the trailer!

I've been lurking in the background obsorbing all the great designs and techniques that everyone has on this fantastic site. I finally took the leap and ordered the heavy duty 4x8 trailer from Harbor Freight. Got a good deal at $269 plus shipping. For my first build I plan to keep it simple.

I'll be bugging y'all for advice and guidence.

Goodluck with build. The Michigan chapter of Tearjerkers(Great Lakes chapter) are having a gathering in Hell Michigan at the beginning of the May. You are more than welcome to attend even if only to look through several tears that will be there. Just go to the Tearjerker link above and check out the times. :)

Hey Weege!

Welcome to the madness! Yes, now that you have the HF trailer, you're committed! (or committable, I can never remember how that goes...). This is a great resource for questione, venting, commiseration, etc. Keep us posted on your progress! Lot's of pictures! I never built anything, If I can do it, you can!

Welcome! It all starts with the trailer. But the fun parts come later on when it starts really taking shape with the walls and roof! (Getting close to done on mine)

Thanks for the encouragement!

The trailer came today in a 53 ft semi with one of the boxes ripped open and parts spewing out. Fortunately it was the drivers last stop and we found all the parts. I just ordered additional parts from etrailer.com: Bearing Buddies, tongue jack, ball mount and ball, stabilizer jacks. I'm trying to find out what size bearings it has so I can have a spare set. Anyone happen to know?

I'm going to take my time putting it together. I'm in no hurry.

I've been watching your build jsayfert3. You sure do move fast!

jseyfert3 - I just did a search on bearings and seals and landed on another of your pages! I've ordered the seals and bearings from the providers you mentioned. You're making this easy for me jseyfert3!

:D

Glad I could be of assistance!

Yes, I am moving fast because I had to get it to a point I could tow it by today, Saturday. I'll be towing it with a bed, the partially completed hatch, and the cut but uncompleted doors inside it on a 192 mile trip to Wisconsin. The uncompleted doors and hatch will be I side the camper as they are not ready to attach yet.

Anyhow, I dont think building a trailer is hard, I'm sure you'll do fine.
