Yeah, I ran out of the 1x2 poplar and need something for the head board. I need to raise the bottom frame so I can open the front cabinets without hitting the mattress. Thanks for stopping by Tommy.

Wish you luck on the staff test. That was the hardest rank for me. We had 4 carrier field all roll into one. So four times the number of people trying for ¼ the number of stripes. I needed all 9’s on APR and 105% on each test on my second time testing. I wished I studied harder on the first time testing be I missed it by 15. Took me 4 more tries at it. I was almost the last Buck Sergeant in the AF by the time I made staff.


Oh this is hanging in a local pawn shop, thought I post it. appears to be made of wood and has hammered copper plating. about 7 feet long. Thought you would like it.

Yeah the kids had fun, I've been trying to get my wife to give it a try this weekend. No luck without a mattress.
I did take my test a couple of weeks ago and I feel pretty good about it, I only missed it by 7 pts last year. I know I scored better this year but the younger guys in the shop are damn sharp.
I don't know if you have heard but we are going through another hard time in the AF, Techs and masters are getting offered early retirement or getting the boot, cutoff for staff is up but the cutoff for anything above that is going down. And no more reenlistment bonus!

Haha, everyone has pull up jokes...
I thought I was on a roll, spent time skinning the roof, made a template for the hatch ribs, and cut two of them out. But then my template bit threw the bearing, didn't knick anything but put me at a stop on that. Then I tried a grove on a piece of 1x2 with the straight bit and it started coming out of the router. I know I tightened it down too tight before and caused damage. Just seemed like nothing was going right. Try again tomorrow and pics to follow.

I got another template bit from a buddy at work, it was like going from a butter knife to a Japanese pairing knife. Got the ribs done. Also got my skin for the walls, call me crazy but I'm going with the mdf for the outside skin. It was free and @ 14ft long each piece covers one whole side and the front. I know what water can do to mdf, so hopefully the canvas, tb2 and high quality paint will protect. My old mdf speaker box is still holding strong out in the elements.

Made a booboo tonight... So I wanted to get the whole tear on the floor and had to pull my 2x6 and caster dolly from under it. I put jack stands at the rear and lifted the front just enough for my son to get the dolly out and put some 4x4's in the middle (he was never underneath the trailer at any point). When the 4x4's were in place, I pushed down on the tongue and he removed the jack stands. Plan was to ease the rear to the floor and lift the tongue and remove the 4x4's. But gravity took over and the 4x4's rolled and the whole thing come down on the tongue. Scared me cause my son was behind it . But he was clear and no damage to the tongue. Was a good stress test and it past.

On a better note, I had my first snooper today. People pass the house while I'm working and they just stare. Today someone actually came up and asked what I was building. As everyone else, I was proud to show him around.

First time in a while I have looked at your progress and noted side vents on the right side of you AC are blocked. Side vents must be open to air or you need to cut vents in the top of the AC for it to work well. This is one of the reasons I went with the hose system. The other concern is condensate. Most window AC, sling the condensate with the fan which is noisy and leaves you with water brewing in the AC, which can slop out or be sprayed on woodwork.

I ran it for a few hours and cooled fine but after seeing all of the problems with venting a box, I will put it on some drawerslides straight out the back. Thanks for the input.

I got it skinned for the most, still got some to do on the left side and front. Had one part on the front break out. It binded on the floor and snapped while I was using the ratchet strap to pull it tight. No biggie, I can fix that.



Excuse the mess, it needs a little cleaning.

And some Thunder Birds from the air show this past weekend. We were able to go by my shop and get a private spot in the shade against a hanger. The main crowd was in the sun all day and forced to buy over priced food and drinks. Also saw the F22 for the first time, that thing is unbelievable!
