Cheers Stonykill. I hate working with fibreglass but I have tons off the stuff sitting around from previous jobs. plus we use it work on models all the time so it's practically free.

Today I made a start on the second arch.



Got 4 layers on because it was so warm the resin dried out really fast.

Then it was time to destroy all my hard work on the first plug..







It's only propped up for now. Need to go a bit lower down at the back i think.

It's a bit close to the tyre. It would be ok for driving but maybe not for wheel changes



Might have to do a bit more trimming

I don't like those lug nuts. The studs should be
threaded all the way through the nut. You may
need new studs for safety.

Or they could be OEM lug bolts with the bolt heads hollowed.

they're hollowed bolts. the go fast kind...less weight= more speed

I had to trim another 10mm off the arch because tests proved the wheel was just too fat to come off the hub the way they where. still tight but a fully inflated tyre will just squeeze past

the rest of the day was sanding and glassing again
at least it's nearly ready for the final gel coat tomorrow.

Well the rain came back in force so the second arch is on hold. but i did manage to keep working.

got the rest of the edge trim on but not trimmed to length. I have a suspicion it might get painted purple later





also got the hatch catches on but I don't like them...they'll do until i find something better.
and i finally got the hatch hinge sealed with a rubber strip glued over it (not pictured) so no more annoying little drips in the galley.

And the best bit is i got the first arch attached.
I had to cut the Iron bars off the held the previous arches but a small blanking plate will hide the hole.



Only 10 days to go until the camping deadline and just one arch and road lights to do

Only 6 days to go now...

lots of little niggley things done in the last 4 days...sanding sticky drawers...paint touchups..hooks..interior lights..and so on.
But today the second arch was finally ready to go so on it went..



it was trimmed to the exact same size as the first one but when the wheel was put back on it was rubbing along the back and very close everywhere else....OK..WHAT THE HELL!!!.....

Hubs where removed, air was let out of the tyre, bolts measured, wheels hammered...and finally 2 hours later the problem was found. the right handside of the axle is 1/4 of an inch further out from the chassis than the left hand side...second hand homemade chassis
Thats 6mm and i had only 10mm to spare on the first arch.

Lots of head scratching went on, How do i fix this?
options taught of where, cut the axle, remake the arch, cut the arch and widen it, get a smaller wheel, hit it with a hammer.

But i finally ended up going high tech on it's ass



Boom! no more tyre rubbing
It'll do for now.

The spring hanging from the handle hold the door open in the wind.

I got to say, The color complement each other, and I just about hit the floor laughing at your Knobs. That sure is going to be a one of a kind.

Cheers Junkboy, who would have taught purple and green would work? the roof of the trolley still has to go darker green, but that will get done when the tongue box is getting done.

Today i spent 5 hours tracing the wires in the car and crawling under the trailer, but now we have road lights, we can go camping

took Humprey out for a little spin around the block...




I dont like the lights or where they are positioned but i can change them later.

BTW those are pockets sewn onto the curtains for a bit of extra storage

so i have 5 days to spare until we head off. I still have to stick the inner trolley top window frames and a few other small bits here and there but I'm taking the day off tomorrow. we are picking up the Number plate and jockey wheel on monday so i'm on hold until then.

What are the road light requirements where you live?

I think I'd recommend at least side reflectors...

The lighting requirements here are optional for such a small trailer. Brake, tail, and turn signals are mandatory but side reflectors and front markers are not necessary on a trailer under 6m (about 18ft) and less than 1.6m wide (around 5ft). But i do have some reflectors that i might stick on anyway. We also need a number plate light but no plate yet so i'll wait until thats put on.

Finally got the trolley window frames on. they are a little out of whack but that's called character



then we started with the knick knacks in the galley area..
