IRG Plans Firming Up

Postby The Teardrop Nanny » Mon May 08, 2006 9:24 am

8) Just got back from one fine "Dam Gathering" at Shasta where Dean and I were able to firm up plans with our E.A.T. (Event Assessment Team) members who also attended. Just a reminder that we are a Teardrop Group with food issues (Potluck Addictions) so you can count on eating well at our event.

We had a LOT of interest and promises to attend the IRG. It was wonderful to meet so many new people and potential attendees. If you spoke with Dean or I, we send a "Hi" to you and ask you send in the registration/$$ as early as you can. Visit us on our www.pamplingrove.com website soon as more information will be posted now that our planning consultants have helped us firm up some of the activities and scheduling. Thank you to our E.A.T.-- Doug, Kevin, Lee & Sue -- who are helping us with entertainment, food issues and fun times. And thanks also to our TD sages, Gage, Grant & Lisa, who are giving us their valuable experience with bigger gatherings.

It was great to get specific advice from the Dam Organizers (Grant & Lisa) about what to expect as we approach our summer date in July. Also, a BIG thanks to them for the loan of the Liberty Tear we slept in for the two nights we were there. Now I can say I've actually spent time in a completed one!

So, to all those who are attending the IRG, and to our new potential TDers,
please sign up on the Nanny's Niche so you can write to others (PM or email) and give us input on what you'd like to see happen in this first time gathering. We're jazzed and hope you are too!!

Get those registrations turned in ASAP folks!!!
I just got off the phone with Ranger Pat...
We were originally told 250 teardrop maximum occupancy by Ranger Pat.
The higher ups in the county have now placed a 250 person maximum occupancy on us.
This event could most likely sell out, so Please, Please, Please sign up now before it's too late.

The registration sheet has been sitting on my table for about a month now. I sent in my registration and used paypal. I'll send the hardcopy with payment for t-shirts/caps via snail mail. I figured that I'd better do it now or who knows when I'd get around to it.

For all that might be interested. I'm looking for a camp ground about half way between L.A. and the gathering that maybe a bunch of us could meet up Wednesday night and then go on up the 101 Thursday for the Gathering. Most likely around the Bay area. Anyone interested?

Have a good day.

For me, it'll be a long drive the first day but the second day should be 4 or so hours and that's good.

Hi, Gage:

It looks like they are opening uP the gates on Wednesday ... for IRG....

Your plan is to get there on Thursday and nOt Wednesday?

A good camp ground would be nice to find that would make the last push easier to make? Big sur area maybe to far South eh?

Yep we're planning on ariving on Thursday. I've got to many gatherings that I'm going to this year and have to watch my time off (even though I work part time). Yep for the last day drive, Big Sur is a little to far South. I'm kind of thinking maybe around Petaluma. I know there is a KOA there. But a State Park would be cheaper (maybe). I haven't even started looking for a place yet. That'll come later.

Have a good day.

Eddie, where are you camping Wed. night?

I'll have to check but I think we will be arriving at Pamplin on Wednesday unless we stay at New Brighton state beach http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=542 one extra day.

Gage,
There's a campground I stayed at once, just a tad bit East of Santa Rosa.
Don't know if it was county or state, can't even remember the damned name... I think it did have "Lake" in the name.
I remember that, because the "Lake" was more like a pond.
(This was back in the drinkin' days...)

8) Alright...we're on a roll now. Looks like people are signing up and making plans. Be sure to register on the Pamplin site as well and check out who might be interested in going/hooking up with you.

Asianflava> Looking forward to meeting you. Dean's not accepting Paypal anymore, so PM to arrange what can be done.

Steve> Great that you'll be making the trip uP!. Also, thank you for the info you sent regarding my other website and I did download and save it.

Cherokeegeorge> Dean came home after the Dam Gathering to your surprise package. He was thrilled to receive it...thanks for the handiwork.

Anyone else out there who is lurking about and considering registering, please do so soon. I know we have space for over a hundred people left.
