Yeah, the price definitely was teardroppingly high. lol
As for the sound, I feel that with the right materials, it could be quiet inside. If the outer shell was a foamie it would greatly add to the noise reduction. I like the hybrid idea of the canvas cook area so that it can still be used during crappy wet weather. And for having spent many a nights in a canvas tent compliments of the US Army, a good heavy duty canvas can be quite a good sound barrier. Usually its the people inside snoring you have to watch out for.
