Thanks to all.....
It is hard to believe it has been 2 and a half years since planning started on this project.
The thought took seed December of 2011
Demolition of the old trailer started in April of 2012
It arrived home in the drive in May of 2012
By June 4th of 2012 it was naked
and I started making sawdust on June 11th of 2012
on October 22nd of 2012 it had a real roof and was dried in and the same week it was painted.
Winter came and life went on hold and by early spring in 2013 I had rented the big storage barn and started the exit out of the house in May of 2013. The poor caboose was ignored from this point until Mid May of this year.
I had to take time out to build the house in a house. By Mid May almost a year to the day everything was moved out of the house and over to the barn. It felt as if someone had taken their foot off of my throat. The incessant flurry of construction and moving weekend after weekend cost me a great gal who I had been lucky enough to find after the divorce, but life had to move on and she did. Here we are 2 years and a week after the first board was cut , and the tiny house is finally in place and fully insured. (without a bit of trouble "Progressive" ). I still have a ton of work to make it fully functional but it has everything the house in a house has now except electricity. I have to get the solar units mounted and get the support trailer fitted with the water storage, the solar panels, the batteries, and wire it to the house. I am rather desirous of staying off grid so I will be asking a lot of stupid questions of the solar folk. Well in my long winded way I am trying to say that despite the odds, time will win out if God gives you enough of it. Every part on the caboose ( and the house in a house) are paid for. The lot was purchased for cash so I owe no one for any part of either of these projects. I am in fervent hope I can convince the zoning czar that my tiny house is not a threat to the economy of Clinton County Indiana and that the mayor and his youthful and progressive ways will come to my aid.
No this is not the end of this thread just a turning point and a moment of reflection
