1st time build, Suprise for the wife (9-10,wall panel added)

Anyone have any sugestions on a glue to use when glueing the aluminum bottom sheet to the floor...... I believe it was on the build of, "Father-Daughter Build 2013-14 by lfrazer98" That I saw to use Vinyl glue, Now I cant find it though, lol .....Below is what I found at Home Depot.... will this work? or any Ideas on What I should Use? Thanks.

Also I said would list some design drawings.... below is a couple of sketchs. They may not make since to you, but they make perfect since to me Lol Now theres not alot of detail listed, but whats not there is all in my head....and planned out perfect. lol, so I will just keep posting photos as it comes together.... (and the drawings are drawn out on graph paper with one square being 6"x6" to scale......Unfortunantly the scanner didnt pick the squares up....and im not computer savy enough to figur out how to make it.

We are not traditional campers, We wont be needing the gallery that most tear drops have, " No need for Sink or Stove top." So it will still have a Hatch inback, this will be to get a queen size mattess in and out, also I will probably try to make some sort, counter top there. By not having the traditional gallery in back, it will allow me to move the Mattress further back, and put the mini Fridge up front. This will also give room in between the Mattress and front of trailer for a sitting area, and for a collaspable table, the mini fridge and the microwave. (Floor plan photo below) Has anyone did a design like this and have photos? Or any Thoughts on it.

Also there is a side profile sketch of the outside profile, and of the interior layout....(again, not sure if this will make sense to any one but me.)

I will be using a window A/C unit, with cabinets on both sides of it. (And my neighbor is a sales rep for a company that manufactures and sales Wood Paint and also Wood Stains.....And he has his Side Business Shop Set up behind his house that they Refinsh cabinets in.........They are masters at it, so He can help me get a Beautiful stain on the Birch Floor, Walls, and Ceiling.

Also, does anyone have any advice on what size and kind of wood to use for the Roof Joist? I was considering using a non pressure treated 1x1 piece of wood...but this is what I would consider a rough cut of wood, and the bundle I got, some of the pieces are kinda bowed or warped. Any inmput from anyone? Im wanting somthing strong, straight and precise....Thanks in advance, Caleb.

"Select" pine, poplar, or cedar; in that order of expense. Look for knot free pieces (because the big box "select" isn't very). I usually find this in the trim section, away from the general framing lumber (probably have to go to a true lumber yard for the cedar).

For hatch hinge spars, you will want to go with something harder that will hold your screws better; maple or oak.

You just can't get knot free framing lumber anymore. The stuff at the Borg is just full of flaws.

What about the Hatch runners....do these need to be cut out of a sheet of 4x8 plywood with a router? see drawing.....?

Your dwg's aren't working for me; not sure why.

There are many ways to do hatch ribs. I did mine by mitering and butt joining 1x6 Red Grandis using biscuits, and then routing the profiles from a template. (I have not stressed them yet and do have some reservations that the joints will handle the load from the bent ply... still building... so maybe not the best example of a success yet.) I have seen others do a mortise and tenon style of slip joint to join the ends then profile, and still others that reinforce jointed planks with aluminum scabbed on.

I did not want to use plywood because my ribs will remain exposed, and because I did not want to run screws down in between the plys when attaching my inner skin (which goes on the outside of the ribs... foamie hybrid construction).

On the other hand, many, dare I say most people cut their hatch ribs from plywood. If you use whole wood stringers/spacers pocket screwed into the ribs, you can then screw your skins into those instead of the edges of the ribs.

Titebond III glue works great on bare wood. On epoxied wood, I used PL2000 construction glue.
Your wife is going to figure out what you are doing pretty soon, if she hasn't already. But, the excitement
of seeing the build is a gift in itself. Anyway, she'll probably want to have some say about colors, etc.

Oh, and, yes, your pictures don't seem to be working anymore.

So after spending some time looking at some build journals, and around the site here.... I decided ive got to make time to get out in the garage tonite. Going to be tuff though. I have to get two cars emision inspected by the state of NC and we have mid week church tonite. If not tonite, forsure tomorrow nite. Most of our trips will be done on the east coast, but after looking through the Camping and Gatherings section, my appetite was really wetted to do a NC to NM trip, my wifes home state. We usually fly out once a year, but it would be really neat to hit the road, and be able to pull over and sleep when ever.

Your pictures show "Attachment" and then a little map-like image that is about 1/4" high, the same image each time.
The weird thing is, I can copy those and paste them into a Word document; and then, the entire picture is displayed on my PC; but, not here, on the forum.
...Don't know what is causing that.
