Door trim/seal

Postby dglenn1960 » Mon May 15, 2006 3:11 pm

Thinking harder about my doors now (floor done and walls are up, pics forthcoming) and have been contemplating having the seal on the inside (like a house door) and using a normal piano hinge. I used 1/2" ply for the walls and can get 1/2 ply alum. edge trim which fits nicely. If I trim the walls with an alum. angle I would have the following (with one or two of the readily available rubber door seals):

Opinions? All edges will be sealed with epoxy (ext. is spar poly).

I like the idea. But the corners will need to be square instead of rounded. Or can you do it another way?

Forgot to add that, yes I'm doing square doors on the moto-tear. You could bend the alum for the door trim but wouldn't be able to for the wall trim as it goes the wrong way (good point).
