Hold me Back!

Postby Vedette » Fri Jan 23, 2015 12:49 am

Okay, Sandi needs some help here??
Sharon, Marrianne, Joanie, ......I might need a slap to help me from not getting out of control with Kermit.
It is just so easy for me to get carried away with this build.
I love to build unique things...and love to let my imagination run wild some times!
Sandi does a pretty good job of keeping me in check most of the time, but Teardrops do lend themselves to creativity.
Good thing living vicariously thru other members here on the forum has satisfied my need to have or build 20 more TD's.
Slap away!

Good thing you didn't include me on that list. I'd tell you to go for it, all out, all the way! Miss Piggy is incredible so it only stands to reason Kermit has to be equally so.

Don't look at me

I have 4 tiny trailers, a tiny house, a house in a house, and trying to get a pontoon frame purchased for a water going teardrop I think we need a chapter of trailers anonymous .

We got lucky with Mega Mini #1 as a learning base/starting point. I as an aspie have a sense that everything has to be "right on" and what we learned we did NOT like in #1 was what fixed in Compass Rose, everything now works well and plays well together. The rear tarp is going back to Pahaque for modification and I have to get the correct air shocks to make the mods to the suspension work correctly.
My goal was to make camping as easy for Nancy in meal prep and clean up as at home, and it is close to that now. I am playing with an idea of hooking up a auto heater core with pump to the water heater for heating the cabin when boondocking.

Thanks Stacie
But this thread was started to show that Sandi has some people on her team.
Although it is easy for me to let my mind run wild sometimes, she keeps reminding me that I am building a camping trailer. And that it should be "simple"......but I do so love gadgets.
On our first trip to the Dam, we saw an amazing TD trailer (all machine turned) with an overwhelmingly amount of work put into some very innovative features. I loved it! But Sandi loved the "Vintage Kit" that was camped next to us and the other minimally equipped TD's she saw.
Sure, she appreciates the extras I built into Miss Piggy, when she needs them! ;)
But I guess it is all about finding where to draw the line.....finding that so elusive Neutral Ground.

PS
I am having a blast with Kermit so far!

An open letter to Sandi, from the Teardrop Muse

Dearest Girl,

Behind every inventive man.....there is often a supportive woman.............

rolling her eyes!!!

That is how I became a Teardrop Muse. It will be part of your role in Brian's life to reign him in when you deem it necessary. Remind him of his initial goal, to build a camping trailer, and it will already be "Cool Enough" without a hundred extra little options. Also, it can be a work in progress, and more can always be added on later. (How am I doing so far, Brian?)

Your patience and creative input are what spur him on, Sandi, (Should I also mention the fact that you are very cute and he's so in love with you??) The reason he has so many ideas for his builds is due to your supportive and inspiring ways and that makes it hard for him to curb his enthusiasm for building. He's bursting at the seams with ideas and it is up to you to streamline those you find acceptable, and gently nudge him toward those.

There will be no charge for today's session, and I am available for couples enhancement therapy by private message. I believe you should smooth the way, Brian, with a special bottle of wine, and a candlelight dinner cooked in a Dutch Oven. Above all, remember you LOVE each other, and a happy wife makes for a happy life. You really don't want to have to haul that beauty of a trailer around by yourself......I have seen the sparks in your eyes when you look at that trailer, but the flames in your heart that are burning with your love will far outlast those little coals.

Sincerely yours,
The Teardrop Nanny

Thanks Joanie
Sandi usually does not read much here, and she was unaware of this thread until I showed her your reply!
Thanks for chiming in!
And Great Advice........you seem to know us pretty well considering the limited time we have spent together.
Sandi was out in the shop tonight checking on my days progress and "Gently Nudging Me in the Direction She Thinks She Can Live With!"...........and I had so many great thoughts today???
But she also has John (fellow that works for me) to keep me in check. He rolls his eyes and reminds me of what Sandi might think when I have an epiphany! :NC
Hope you guys are well....and counting the days until the Dam Gathering.
So until our next session,

Re: Hold me Back!

Postby Roly Nelson » Mon Jan 26, 2015 10:58 pm

What, you're designing and building a teardrop that is unlike any other. Well not for me, I like them cheap and simple, like a flat front and back, flat sides and no fenders. Well, that was my original intention, but I fell into the "Brian trap" and the designs changed a bit, 5 times at the last count. Isn't it interesting, as the build progresses, what inovations keep creeping into your mind. Keep it up Brian, we all love it. We're all waiting for the final masterpiece, and look forward to seeing it as soon as it's finished......Shasta?? Be patient, Sandi, The loving look in your eyes, are his reward.
8) :worship: ;) Roly, a fellow TDer, about 2000 miles south of you.

Yes, I am enjoying the build and it is moving right along.
Or at least I thinks so?........others are sceptical about my target date??????? :frightened:
But I am going to give the Dam my best shot.
Sandi won't be getting baseboards just yet!

TN, double thumbs up! My first thought was "Brian, it doesn't have to fly". Since i am generally the idea half of our relationship, I'm not much help here either. Randy high tails it and runs when he hears "I was thinking" !
