I'm a 52 year ole guy thinking building a tear drop. I'm looking for something I can tow behind anyone of my cars (1931 ford roadster, 1933ish ford pu, 1952 chevy coupes and a 2006 Honda civic. We'Lloyd see if it works LOL
nice site what I've seen of it.

Hooligan, welcome to the board. It would be nice to know where you are located and the size and shape of the TD you plan to build. There may be some nearby TD people that you can hook up with. Try to attend a TD gathering in your area, you'll get loads of ideas and meet a bunch of really neat folks. good luck on your build.

Welcome -
Here are some tips:
I measured from center to center on my side view mirrors and added one inch. That number became the width for my Weekender-XL. Also, determine the tow rating for your vehicle. Brakes is the key= you must be able to stop. If you already have a hitch, you could rent a small U-haul and load it up to the maximum you think you will be towing. Take it for a spin and see how the car performs and how well you can stop.
Good luck finding the style you want to build. I went with a camper with straight lines as I wasn't confident about building one with curves.

Thanks guys, I'm just started my quest. The only car I'm worried about using to tow is the honda civic. I'm thinking a classic TD. But like I said I'm just early on in the plan.
