Boy do I have some work to do.
I'll try to get some measurements on my off time, I don't think my client would want to pay me to do the documentation work.
The last pic is the reason we keep an eye on leaks around the galley hinge.

It looks a lot cleaner and nicer already, even if you do have to do a total restoration.

Is the structural framing wood Oak? The grain looks more pronounced than the usual softwood framing. Just curious.

I don't know if it would be worth it to you, but you could do a very close documentation of it all, with the view of making plans of it that you could sell. You wouldn't get rich but it'd be some compensation for the time you need to do all that, especially if you do it on 'your time'.

The Wee-Zim reminds me very much of the Super Tear Drop (S.T.D. for short) built by our very own Vairman. It's got a drop floor, too.

Here's a few more pics. I know I missed a few shots, (rear nailer and the wheel well side support). I'll have to remember to get those shots when I do the other wall.

Wayne , so you’re replacing one piece at a time , working your way around ??? And saving what you can ...? Which seems like a really Great idea for restoration as the trailer is never wholly disassembled ...

I found that the only way I could keep the shape of the sides is to replace all the rotted wood while the sides were on, then I would put the outside sheathing on so I could remove the walls.
After the walls are removed I can start on the birch ply interior wall panels, then it's on to the frame and the floor.

It's a tad bit overwhelming when you think about all that needs to be done, basically all thats left to be reused, is the frame, axle?, and the aluminum side panels, and lets not forget the lifting system, all the rest will be trashed (water damage and squirrel stuff)

I hadn't notice the lifting system until you mentioned it so I went back and looked at your pictures again. I see how the "push rods" lifted the roof but there seems to be extra cables and pulleys for that operation alone. Does one system both lift the roof and lower the floor too?

The weight of the drop down floor lifts the back lid up, and pulling the lid down lifts the floor. The weight of the roof and the floor need to be very close in weight.
Very cool setup.
