Reinforcing strips are ,merely "doublers" made of fabric to strengthen the edges of foam parts ... It's all in the Big thread ...

Reinforcing strips can be applied under the canvas or on top ... ;)

I only did the reinforcing strips on the bottom. I am expecting my Foamie to implode and end the universe as we know it   :R :R

I hope you all are not making a comparison between BEULA and the Vogons... or suggesting that my design is one of the six impossible things I need to do before breakfast.
Thanks for feedback and info on reinforcing strips - will start skinning the exterior Wednesday.

Big weekend for BEULA.
Since last post I partially skinned and primed the exterior walls.

and

and

Then time to create hard points to secure walls to floor. I decided to add /4" plywood discs to the ouside - 7 on each side - that allowed me to bolts walls to a bracket that is secure to the floor with construction adhesive.
From all I've read this is not necessary but should hold walls in place if GS ever fails. Extra time and minimal weight but give peace of mind.

and

Now I put the walls and nose together - a big deal after months of prep.

One more shot of the installed hard points that bolt wall to floor with flathead 1/4" bolts

and

Walls then installed - using GS to attach to the walls to the wood brackets that are secured to floor with construction adhesive, thne bolts through the walls and the melamine pieces glued to the inside of the 2" X 3/4" wood brackets.

The front spars installed - all rabbitted to create a nest for 3/4" poly ceiling strips. These will be covered with single sheet of 3/4" over the top, then canvassed/painted. Chamfered the spars.

I added a bracket to esnure that nose and walls are mechanically attached in addition to GS.

All came together as planned. Everything square and appeared to be solid. Next comes the first layer of ceiling, then wiring, then the 2nd payer of ceiling and canvassing the exterior. Then the hatch, then the three doors. Long ways to go.

Will be taking a two-weeks break for travel, then back at it in mid-August - appreciate the views and comments.

Back home and ready to have at it. A good trip but I think our 23 y.o. son had all the family time he could stand... and then some.
I've decided - I think - to add a skylight between the top of the nose and the first spar. Back to 5 Star RV to get a salvage 10" X 20" window, then the work on the ceiling/roof begins.
