I turned around and started a drive by. If it looked interesting, I thought I'd stop and ask for a tour.
There was no front plate on the tow vehicle. A gray bearded guy was in the driver's seat. His head was down and he looked like he was studying a map or reading his email. I looked at his trailer: White fiberglassed wood. Angular with good wind resistance. Clean and well built. Probably painted with a marine enamel.
It dawned on me that it was familiar. I checked the back plate and sure enough: Florida. I'd PM'd this guy 'cause I'd made him for a boat builder while reading about his trailer build.
I had to tap my knuckles on his hood to get his attention. He rolled down his window and I introduced myself. Indeed, it was TreeRog. (Here's his build log: viewtopic.php?t=63630)
He's soloing from Florida to Canada. Running from hurricane season. We had a nice chat and I got a look into his sailboat-like trailer. He was headed to the Crater's of the Moon. I encouraged him to take a long-cut through Stanley Basin.
