Maneuvering trailer jack

Any suggestions for how to guide trailer when unhitched and using trailer jack. How do you get wheel to change directions?

There are always the wheel dollies built for this purpose. But I do what is probably a bad thing and use my rubber mallet to coax the wheel around.

Better maneuvering concept...

You also might consider putting a extension arm on swivel wheel on jack to give you leverage for turning and steering control similar to tiller on a small sail boat... Would work as same concept as dolly that fits in ball socket...

See how steering/tiller arm steers pallet jack, same concept...

If you are using jack/dolly wheel to move any great distance I would consider going to something more substantial like HF solution, becasue plastic wheels on jack are not that durable...

Dale, the HF dolly is what I was referring to. I have a tough spot to back into and would love one of those power units.

I pull the trailer forward, by hand, to adjust the angle and then begin pushing it back again, maneuvering it as I back it. It works okay on smooth surfaces....Gravel? Not so much.

At most large Gatherings, there are usually a few of these on site, as a lot of people bring them with them in their TV.
But if you have a tight spot to store your trailer you should have one just for at home.
They are very cheap to buy! Usually cost more for the materials if you are thinking of building one.
I don't have one......but I have "Dixie" to park trailers in tight places.
Dixie is my 8N Tractor with a ball on the front.

Got to love front mount ball.... Have a bolt on receiver on front of my Jeep, and you can see people at boat ramps using them all the time to launch boats.... A couple of the"trailer hitch" sites even sell front mount receivers for several brands of PU trucks...

Pictured below is rear bumper bolt on for PU truck bumpers...

I picked mine up for $5 at yard sale... It also help to stabilize my car carrier trailer so I can use winch on front of Jeep to load immobile cars on my trailer...
