I have used the gear hinge 3 times, for a hatch and once for the doors. I won't use it for doors again as it can let the door sag down a little . The is a set screw in an inset that keeps the hinge in place so the door does not slide down. Once it is set and adjusted right it stays put. But early on it was a struggle to figure out why my doors would pop open.
As for the galley hinge, I work alone. So installing this hinge by myself was very easy. But 2 of the 3 hinges had leaking problems. When I reported this the SO. Cal where I bought the hinge they insisted that it is impossible for it to leak. I sent pictures and they basically dismissed me. I did figure out how to fix the problem but it was a big hassle. My best advise if you want to use this hinge, is to be sure that both sides of your framing are dead flat against each other before installing the hinge.
If you purchase from SO. Cal expect to be on your own if you have issues.
Here is an alternate source. They do not sell to the public I believe. But any cabinet shop should be able to get it for you.
