Really taking shape now & I'm with the others about the sheet metal work, a labor of love to be sure. Woodwork is easy for me, but metal work just remains a mystery, unless it's a flat 2 dimensional shape. If I tried something like that, it would need a tractor to haul it around, because of all the bondo it would take to make it look right.......

Looking forward to more progress pictures & seeing the finished product on the road!

So.......as I was laying on the floor under Kermit while fitting the nose sheet metal, I looked thru the framework and thought it might make a great picture.
So here it is! 137503137504137505

Great! Thanks for the pics! Needed a few to visualize. You got some great plans there. Do you pre-design the interoir cubbies or just do it on-the-fly? Ever thought of repurposing old aircraft.....

Funny you should mention that!
When, starting Kermit, I took all of the inside dimensions and sat down with my son (auto cad drafting wizz) plugged in the numbers for each appliance, drawer, cooler, fridge, wine rack, etc. that I wanted in the Galley....and did an actual blueprint that we could view from all angles. We then printed them so I would have a hard copy to sit in the trunk area with while welding.
And as for the Aircraft thing! YES, it would be cool! And I have taken that approach with this build.
To reduce weight, I have down sized the wall thickness and external dimensions of "ALL" of the structural steel I have incorporated into this build. Found that my first build (Miss Piggy) was way "over built". Although she is not too heavy; she could have been lighter.
Thus, I have trimmed the fat so to speak on Kermit's build. ;)

Sounds like you need a bigger hammer Brian.

Thanks and Brad
I did have a week of moving forward last week, and made some strategic cuts and remounted the forward stabilizers and designed the bay in which they will fold up into......much like the landing gear bay in an aeroplane.
Lots of work but not much to show at this time.
More pictures to come as I get something visual done.

Brian,

I don't think there's anything you would be doing, no matter how small, that wouldn't be of interest to us. This build is that unique.

[whine] We wanta see moar. [/whine]

THANKS
You guys are so inspirational, it makes me want to get off the couch, turn off the football game, and get out there to weld something else onto Kermit!
