We live in the Comox Valley...the kind of place people elsewhere save up all year to vacation in.
So pretty blessed with terrific camping and outdoor type things to do.
We have been tent campers all our lives together (40+) but as we enter our "Metamucil and Memories" stage wanted something to help us continue to camp but wasn't a RV.
We wanted to not sleep on the ground, not get up from the ground and to avoid the set up/tear down each time we moved.
What better to address those wants than a tear drop trailer, right?
Now not to offend anyone but I don't understand having a sink the size of a dog dish and a stove spewing grease and cooking odours into the back hatch when our camping set up has a full sized sink, four propane burners, a charcoal grill, a smoker, a fire pit grate...all set up a distance away from the tent(teardrop).
So we went looking for dirt simple, quality built no frills tear drops.
Much Google, many emails, lots of false starts later I happened on a fellow in Oregon (I don't know the etiquette of promoting him so I'll wait until someone tells me I can or can't) and he put together our teardrop.
Couldn't be happier. Simple, built like a tank, it will extend our camping well into our "Forget if I had porridge or toast this morning" years.
I'm going to try and insert a photo the only way I know hoe on forums (photobucket). If that fails...well I'll figure it out soon enough.
