A nice feature is a 3 settings switch that will cause the fridge to cutoff before draining your battery below a specified voltage, so you can always have enough juice to start your car. If I'm not going to be driving the car for a couple of days I hook up a portable solar panel charger to the CX-5 battery to keep it fully charged and the TB41 continually running.
You do not want to leave it outdoors (like under your EZup) where it can get wet in a rain storm, and then short out. Don't ask me how I know this...
I think the only reason a new model would be coming out would be if there were some improvement in the Danfoss compressor, which is pretty efficient as it is. I'm suspicious...
