Fantastic VENT, upgrade to fan?

Postby SPLAT » Tue Feb 02, 2016 9:49 pm

I unfortunately have a vent and not a fan.
I would like the fan version but don't want to have to buy another complete fan.
I have looked hard to find the motor and fan assembly but can only find upgrade kits for units that already come with a fan.
I have found articles where people break their vent lid, buy the static vent and swap the parts...
Any help to get me a fan would be greatly appreciated

Some people make a setup with computer fans. They are inexpensive, use very little current & will fit in a frame. Take a look at some of the ideas using computer fans with a search. viewtopic.php?f=30&t=64724

We have two computer fans for our are circulation system in Miss Piggy as we did not want to cut a hole in the roof?? ;)
They work Great! And run quietly all night as we sleep. No condensation!
Have two more to install in our new build Kermit! :applause:
If it works....Why re invent the wheel??

I have a fan that I destroyed the lid on. I left it up when I backed it into the garage. The lift mechanism is bent out of shape but everything else is good. Where are you located. I am in the Dallas/ Fort Worth Texas area.

The first picture is our current teardrop the other two are its predecessor. Same fans, but it the second iteration I used a DPDT switch so that one or both fans can be used.

Very seldom do we have the fans on high speed .

Installed, works great... Took a little modification because the flanges were different

Rather than a fan, I wish I had installed another vent. I could even see having three vents, two up front over our heads and one in the rear.
