Progressive underwrites most of USAA's trailer policies, but Progressive wouldn't touch a homebuilt camping trailer. I was bounced back to USAA and after two different 15-minute conversations, I'm covered with comp ($0 deductible), collision ($50 deductible), and high liability coverages that match my car policy for $111 every 6 months. This is based on an initial value of $11,000. Receipts weren't required, but it did help when I steered the second policy writer to my Lumberjocks page which had plenty of pictures that we discussed on the phone.
My other "coverages" are a Proven Industries lock on the coupler, security lug nuts, and a Rack'em Manufacturing Magnum wheel lock. You can only do so much, but you've got to do something...
