All Steel Build?

Postby Hader » Wed Jul 06, 2016 10:35 am

Has any one used an all steel for a conversion? Some thing like this: http://cmtrailers.com/cargo-mite/
I know it would be heavier than a traditional Wood Paneled.
Any thoughts?

There's no reason why an all-steel wouldn't work. The all-steel cargo trailers do have a more-finished appearance than steel frame with screwed aluminum skin trailers.

Weight might be an issue. Also, cutting the steel panels for windows, water and electrical service, etc. is probably going to be more difficult than cutting aluminum.

Thanks Aggie,

I'll need to consider all your points. We'll be looking at some trailers this coming Monday and figure which direction We'll be taking.

We went and looked at several all-steel and were not impressed at all. Even the high $ ones were already rusting.
We are fixing to order a 6x14 from Lark Trailers. Base price is $2,288.00 plus add-ons.

The one I wanted was a Fiberglass build, but it was too much Moola.

The Canadian 6'x14' was $ 6,798.00 (U.S. Dollars).
The Florida one never sent me a price, but by then, I learned that Fiberglass was out of the question.
