Glen-L plans

Postby Dschroeder83 » Sun Jun 05, 2016 4:23 pm

Was looking around on line and it came across the camper plan that Glen L sells. Just was wondering if anyone has built from their plans or looked at them first hand. We are building our first teardrop currently but I am thinking about building a small travel trailer for the next one

I built a Glenn-L Bullet mini ski boat from their plans. They were easy to follow and the patterns were accurate. The company was great to deal with during the ordering process...

I've built both the Zip and the Malahini from their boat plans. They were great and any questions were answered quickly. Haven't done any of their campers, I just cook up my own ideas on those. For a boat....I wanted some marine expertise on the hull. Doug

We have had the plans for the Sequoia for years now but never did more than look at them and consider building it. If I knew someone with the skills to build it, probably not me, I would definitely have gone for it. I think it would be great to have. Now, I'm making myself want it. Getting the frame built wouldn't be difficult as I live in "farm" country, but the wood parts, I'm just not sure. If you do a search here, you'll find some discussion on the "Sequoia". I know a "foamie" was built using the Sequoia plans here.

Ok, now I want it again. I'm getting the plans out. If you have any questions about the plans that I could answer since I have them in hand, let me know.

I hope to full-time in a teardrop or tiny trailer IF I can ever get some things in order. Have been playing "one step forward, two steps back" lately.

Yep, the foamie Sequoia was cool. If I was single I could full time in one.

Noticed your profile info on the thread said you're in Kansas. Omaha NE area here

We are in Emporia, KS. And, yes, there are sheets, one that is the template: wheel well cut-out, sidewall pattern - use for building forward portion of sidewalls, front wardrobe wall & ice box wall, a long thin pattern piece for a word I can't read that well, something CA (maybe symbols) roof beam. There are 3 layout sheets that show construction and shows you what size pieces to cut out of each sheet of plywood. A listing of wood needed, by size piece, and always thought if I took up the street and asked the lumber company to custom cut it, it would like a kit, fairly easy, maybe. I have always thought the plans looked simple enough, I don't build things but do crafts and sewing.

I might order a set and give it a shot for a winter project We basically just use the trailer for sleeping and this would give us a little more room over the teardrop
